Parkinson's Support Group Meeting

This group is for people with Parkinson’s, their family and caregivers. Normally, we meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 1:00- 2:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge at 1170 West Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene. We meet in a casual setting to lend emotional support and share information, as well as our experiences and methods of coping with Parkinson’s disease. We often have a speaker from the medical community. See upcoming events to get specifics.

The Cd'A Parkinson's Support Group

The Coeur d’Alene Parkinson’s Support Group is for men and women with Parkinson’s, their families and caregivers. It is free. We meet on the first Thursday of every month primarily at the Elks Lodge, 1170 West Prairie Avenue. Occasionally, we meet at a different location. We offer information, emotional support, and often have speakers from the medical community.
When we do meet at the Elks, a Complementary Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. for a social hour. Caregivers will often go into another room at the Elks to eat their lunch and visit. The whole group meeting will start at 1:00 P.M.​ and will be over at 2:30 P.M.

Women with Parkinson's Support Group Meeting

We meet on the third Thursday of every month from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. It is a casual get-together to share information and lend emotional support. We usually meet at a restaurant and order lunch or a treat. This is a great group of women. We are currently meeting at MacKenzie River Pizza, 405 West Canfield Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in their conference room. Our group can buy your lunch if there is a financial need. Just ask Bonnie or Beth when you arrive.

Caregivers' Support Group

On the first Thursday of every month, from 12:00 – 2:30 P. M., we hold our CdA Parkinson’s Support Group meeting for men and women with Parkinson’s, and often, the Caregivers Group will break away during the lunch hour at 12:00 p.m. and go into another room or out to the patio to eat their lunch and discuss the particular concerns and successes that caregivers of people with Parkinson’s share. The caregivers lend emotional support and share information, tips, and frustrations with each other. Lunch will be served from 12:00 – 12:45 P.M. Free to our members. The general support group will start at 1:00 p.m. We are currently meeting at the Elks Lodge at 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Please join us.

Moving to the Music

This group is held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a fun group of people with Parkinson’s who are doing yoga type stretches and a line dance kind of exercise with Kristi, a great instructor from the Kroc Center. It can be adapted to any ability level, even if you’re using a walker or want to sit in a chair. We are currently meeting at the Elks Lodge at 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

​Music and Wellness

We meet on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. This is a great group for increasing the volume of your voice and helping with the clarity of your speech. Our certified music therapist, Carla Carnegie, is a lot of fun and brings rhythm instruments to keep everyone involved. No singing ability needed. Just come and share some enjoyable time with other people traveling down this path. We are currently meeting at the Elks Lodge at 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
