Coeur d'Alene Parkinson's
Support Group Meeting
***All of our events and classes are free and open to the public.***
This group is for men and women with Parkinson's, their family and caregivers, or anyone interested in Parkinson's. We meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. We meet in a casual setting to share information and our experiences and methods of coping with Parkinson’s disease. We often have a speaker from the medical community. Lunch or a snack will be served. It is held at the Elks Lodge, 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d'Alene.
***In April we will meet on April 6th***
Music and Wellness
Music and Wellness
This is a great class for strengthening your voice and improving the clarity of your speech. It is a lot of fun and it is taught by our certified Music Therapist, Carla Carnegie. No singing ability required. Just come and have fun with the rhythm instruments and the voice exercises that really do increase the volume of your voice. It meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 11:30 am. to 12:15p.m. It is held at the Elks Lodge, 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d'Alene.
***In April we will meet on the 13th, 20th and 27th.***
Moving to the Music
Moving to the Music
This is a super fun, easy line dance type class that meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is held at the Elks Lodge, 1170 West Prairie Avenue, Coeur d'Alene. Come and participate to whatever degree you are able. Socialization and exercise have been proven to slow the progression of Parkinson's.
*****This month we will have to cancel again. If anybody knows of an instructor that would come and help us out on the second, third and fourth Thursdays, we will pay for them to teach us. Please call Beth at 208-635-5243.
Thanks!
